Closing out the lineup, Várzea: Onde Nasce o Futebol (The Root Of The Game) premieres on June 8th and reveals the world of amateur várzea soccer in São Paulo, the cradle of talents like Cafu and Raphinha, who revisit their roots to share how várzea shaped their paths to global success. “This sport creates a unique connection with audiences. These are stories born on the streets, in neighbourhoods, within families, spanning generations and reinforcing a sense of pride,” commented Elisa Chalfon, Head of Nonfiction at Netflix Brazil. “We deeply believe in the power of telling great sports stories.
